My name is Adam Mouak. I am ...
Adam is a Civil Engineering PhD and Masters student at the University of Kansas. He loves to learn new things and is always learning something new! In his free time he also loves to golf, read, and spend time outdoors. When he is not doing any of the aforementioned, he is likely hanging out with his golden retriever Phoebe.
While in grad school, he was the recipient of the Madison and Lila Self Memorial Scholarship. His previous education includes an Associates of Applied Science in Engineering Graphics Technology with highest distinction from Butler County Community College and a Bachelors of Science in Architectural Engineering with Highest Distinction, University Honors, and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Kansas. On top of all of this, he was selected as one of the University of Kansas engineering class of 2022's most outstanding seniors, an honor bestowed upon only one senior from each of the engineering disciplines.
Currently, he is working as a graduate research assistant studying the repair and retrofit of concrete dam structures through the use of fiber reinforced polymers. His portion of the research focuses on material characterization and environmental durability of fiber reinforced polymers used on dam structures. He leads a small army of undergraduate and graduate research assistants (currently 10, but at one point almost 20) and works in a multifaceted team of graduate students, professors, and postdoctoral researchers on this project - one of the largest in the department.
